Expired domains

Expired domains go through three different stages:

Stage 1 (Free Redemption Grace Period): The domain can be redeemed within 29 days of its expiration date by simply renewing it at the standard renewal rate.

Stage 2 (Paid Redemption Grace Period): The domain can be redeemed after 29 days of expiration by paying a $250 redemption fee, a $49.95 administrative fee, and the standard renewal fee. None of these fees can be waived.

Stage 3 (deletion): Sometime between 45 and 90 days after the domain's expiration date, the domain registration will be deleted. Once the domain registration is deleted, it is available for new registration. But it is available to anyone! To significantly increase your odds of getting the domain, backorder it through NameJet:
