This demo will show you how to reset your cPanel password. In order to reset your password, you must first be logged into cPanel, in other words, you must already know your existing cPanel password. If you do not know your current cPanel password, you have a couple options.

First, you can use the cPanel password reset feature available on your server. In order to use this feature, you must have access to the email address that you have on file as your contact in your cPanel. Simply visit:

http://example.com:2082/resetpass/?user=USERNAME

where example.com is your domain name and USERNAME is your cPanel username.

A password reset confirmation email will be sent to the contact email that you have set within your cPanel.

If you do not have access to this email address, please post a ticket with our Helpdesk and we will be happy to reset it for you.

This demo will also illustrate the use of cPanel's random password generator, which you can use to create random passwords ensuring greater security on your account.

[1] Click on the "Change Password" icon within the "Preferences" section of your cPanel

[2] Fill in the "Old Password" field with your current cPanel password

[3] Use the "Generate Password" button to generate a randomized alphanumeric secure password

[4] Copy the password provided and store it in a safe place where you can reference it later

[5] Check the box once you have copied the password to a safe place

[6] Click the "Use Password" button

[7] Make sure the "Allow MySQL password change" box is checked. This option being unchecked will break some cPanel functionality.

[8] Click on the "Change your password now!" button to initiate the password change
