To force all traffic to https:// instead of http://, add the following to the top of your .htaacess file:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !on
RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI}
Now when someone goes to your site, they will be forced to https://.
