Category:LEMP Guides
LEMP stands for Linux, Nginx, MariaDB (or MySQL) and PHP. The "E" comes from how Nginx is pronounced ("engine-x"). It's an alternative to the LAMP stack that uses the Nginx web server instead of Apache. Nginx is fast and uses little memory, but it doesn't read .htaccess files, so rewrite rules go in the website's Nginx configuration instead. Our guides take you from a fresh installation to a working website with a free SSL certificate, without a control panel.
