What is CageFS?
CageFS is a virtualized file system that encapsulates each shared hosting customer in their own private virtual space. Within each user's virtual space are all the tools to be a fully functional environment.
The largest reason to install CageFS is increased server security.
- Prevents users from scanning the server for vulnerable files, and prevents users from gaining root access and affecting system binaries.
- Prevents users from detecting and accessing other user accounts on the server.
- Prevents access to system configuration files.
CageFS is a part of CloudLinux, and there is no additional charge beyond CloudLinux.
